About Italian Journal of Pediatrics
What is Italian Journal of Pediatrics? Italian Journal of Pediatrics, the official journal of the Italian Society for Pediatrics, is an open access, peer-reviewed online journal that includes all aspects of pediatric medicine. The journal also covers health service and public health research that addresses primary care issues. Italian Journal of Pediatrics, which commenced in 1975 as Rivista Italiana di Pediatria, provides a high-quality forum for pediatricians and other healthcare professionals to report and discuss up-to-the-minute research and expert reviews in the field of pediatric medicine. The journal will continue to develop the range of articles published to enable this invaluable resource to stay at the forefront of the field. Content overview Italian Journal of Pediatrics considers the following types of articles:
Peer review policy Italian Journal of Pediatrics operates a closed peer review system. Manuscripts submitted to the journal will be screened for general suitability before being reviewed by at least two experts selected by the Editor-in-Chief, with the aim of reaching a decision as soon as possible. Reviewers will be required to declare any competing interests. Edited by Sergio Bernasconi, Italian Journal of Pediatrics is supported by an expert Editorial Board. Publishing in Italian Journal of Pediatrics All articles are listed in PubMed immediately upon acceptance (after peer review), and are covered by PubMed Central, CAS and Scopus. Articles in Italian Journal of Pediatrics should be cited in the same way as articles in a traditional journal. However, because articles in this journal are not printed, they do not have page numbers. Instead, they have a unique article number. The following citation: As an online journal, Italian Journal of Pediatrics does not have issue numbers. Each volume corresponds to a calendar year. Submission of manuscripts Manuscripts should be submitted electronically to Italian Journal of Pediatrics using the online submission system. General journal policies Italian Journal of Pediatrics is published by BioMed Central, part of Springer Science+Business Media. BioMed Central is committed to ensuring peer-reviewed biomedical research is open access. That means it is freely and universally accessible online, it is archived in at least one internationally recognised free access repository, and its authors retain copyright, allowing anyone to reproduce or disseminate articles, according to the BioMed Central copyright and licence agreement. Italian Journal of Pediatrics however, has taken this further by making all its content open access. Italian Journal of Pediatrics's articles are archived in PubMed Central, the US National Library of Medicine's full-text repository of life science literature, and also at INIST in France and in e-Depot, the National Library of the Netherlands' digital archive of all electronic publications. The journal is also participating in the British Library's e-journals pilot project, and plans to deposit copies of all articles with the British Library. Italian Journal of Pediatrics is able to deliver summaries of frequently updated content via Really Simple Syndication (RSS) feeds.
